Mountain Nuang (2.08.08)

Huhu.. At last I have time to blog. Well, actually nothing special lar.

Last Saturday, I went to Mountain Nuang which located at Hulu Langat, Cheras. The height of the mountain was 1493m and usually it took around 8 hours to reach the peak. This mountain had been used to train the climbers' stamina who intended to climb G Tahan or KK.I woke up at 5a.m that day. We reached the place around 8a.m and started to walk on a long path before reaching Camp Lolo.

Around 9.45a.m, we reached Camp Lolo. There was a hugh waterfall. After that we proceed to the next camp site. Unfortunately, we have lost. We have followed the wrong path. So, we have become the last team instead of the leading team at the beginning.

In the lost jungle, I have been stung by an "insect" which was more likely to be a bee. They flew in a group. The pain was unbearable however it has subsided after some time.Later on, we went back to the right track. Here we started to climb the slope. It was quite similar with G Angsi. After some time, I continue my journey alone when seeing my friends sitting to rest. Hence, I climbed the mountain and passed by a few other climbers. Miraculously, after 15 minutes, I saw no one ahead of me. I was all alone in the jungle. It was damn creepy at first but I managed to take up the courage and go on. Besides, sometimes I have to decide which way to walk as some of the route has detour.

Misty and cooling jungle >.< Along the journey, I did not stop to rest. I just kept on going and motivating myself by saying "I CAN, I CAN DO THE BEST, I WOULD NEVER GIVE UP, I WOULD REACH THE PEAK, THERE IS A TIN OF 100 PLUS WAITING FOR ME AT THE PEAK, etc" Besides, there was only one thing that can motivate me at that time. I have been thinking it for the whole journey and thank you very much. I would never forget and would use it as a motivation in the future although there was some kind of sins. Anyhow, I managed to reach Camp Pacat safely at 11.45a.m.
Shocking to know that I was the first person to reach Camp Pacat. There was no one ahead of me. I decided to wait for a few minutes then 4 more guys reached there. After taking 5 minutes break time, we continue our journey. This time I let the guys to lead the way. I was a bit slacking to go on. My movement was slowed but I still kept on going. First 5 people who reached the peak on time.
Total 12 poeple including teacher were at the peak

After climbing the difficult part, we managed to reach the Mountain Pengasih. The sloopy part was about 90 degree which you need to depend on your hands' strength to support your whole body. If you stepped wrongly even just one move, there would be no turning back as there was high possibility that you might face fatal or serious injuries. Either you die or you fly down the hill like the superman. Cool??

When we were climbing up the sloopy hill, we met a group of UITM students.Around 1.00p.m, I reached the peak. YEAH!! It was a great compliment for me as I used 6 hours to reach the peak instead of 8 hours. We have our lunch there where I brought a packet of biscuits and nuts. My friend worst. Haha.. He brought his homemade hot dog and eat with bread. Haha... Not worst la, it was normal plus a bit funny XD
The view there was damn beautiful. They claimed that from there you can see Genting Highland. Besides, the air up there was cold and windy. I'm damn lovin it XD
Can you guess how many people manage to climb up to the peak out of 40 students? I was the only girl who reached the peak with the 4 guys which started from Camp Pacat. There were only 5 of us who reached to the peak on time. Later on, my 3 other friends reached the peak around 1.45p.m. Moreover, there were more than half of 40 students did not manage to climb to the peak as they had given up. LOL
When we started to climb down at 2.30pm, there were a few more people climbing up to the peak. These people can't manage to take the bus back with us as they have exceeded the time limit to reach the ground. Somemore, I heard that there was one guy teacher was seriously injured. Hence, we left without them at around 7.30p.m and reached Taylor's around 9p.m. Hopefully they are ok now.

Along the journey, I was a crazy nut kept taking photos even though standing at the danger zone. LOL.. But I just like the feeling of snapping those photos without boundaries although some of them were quite blur.

Along the way back to the ground, I stopped by at a hut to buy "terung" from 3 cute orang asli kids. Well, I have no intention to buy the veggies, I just want to help them. The terung was just RM1, I wanted to give them RM50 but my friend said it would not polite if I did so, so I didn't. Anyhow, there were so damn CUTE!!!Around 6.30p.m, I reached the ground site. SIGH!!! A big relief. Dunno why my friends kept grumbling about their legs or body aches. Why didn I feel any of the illness? Am I normal????

Sorry, I do not mean to boost myself here. Just wanna share my experience and currently I am satisfied with my performance. I thought I will suffer as my stamina has been deterioriated due to irregular of food intake but it turned up ok XD

Can't wait to create another cool history with best buddies this time during ****** Yiphee : )

p/s: oops, super long post here, hope you all don't mind. For those who want more pics or wanna download them, just go to either facebook or PICASA to download or see ya. Arigato.
