Trekking in Sabah - 2

Continue from previous posts.

During the one week trek, each of us has to carry a heavy rucksack. Inside the rucksack, we have our personal belongings and group kits (either radio kit, food for breakfast/lunch/dinner/teabreak, 3 bowls for washing, cooking utensils and Jerry water). Let the pictures do the talking as my laptop went crazy again :(

Moss

 

We did two river crossing to get to Mega Noah Campsite. It was drizzling when we reached at the riverbank and the water was rising slowly. We were quite worried of not being able to reach to the campsite on time, but luckily it all went well :D 

 

I slept right beside the riverbank. Loving the awesome natural view and the sound of water rushing down from upper stream.

  Mega Fall. I will tell you more about this fall. It scared the shit out of us when we were there.

Never ever touch this thing. It is a centipede and you will feel super itchy once you touched it.

Trekking at Long Pasia, Sabah, Malaysia

Long Pasia is a village located near to the border between Sabah and Kalimantan. My friends and I went there for a 7 days trekking around Long Pasia jungle. Almost everyday we had to wake up early, pack our stuffs and trek to another location. Once we reached to a new campsite, we set up our hammock, search for firewood, prepare dinner and chill. I love sleeping in the jungle because during night time, all the insects and unknown creatures will form an orchestra, creating lullaby music which will make you fall asleep easily and feel in peace. Also, sleeping in a swinging basha with a top (in case of raining and you will not get wet and cold) is a new experience for me and I loveeeeeeeee it sooo much. Here are some pictures taken during my trekking day 1 and 2. I will describe more about the places (name, location, etc) next time when I have my daily diary with me.

BLOODY LEECHES THAT LIKE TO SUCK OUR BLOOD.

Their bodies will grow bigger along with the amount of blood they have sucked. They will leave the skin once they are bloated. This is what I saw when I took off my boots. Somehow, they manage to find their own ways to get into your shoes or socks. Once you realized there are leeches around you, roll the leech in a circular motion until it is not sticking onto your skin and flick it off. Try to avoid pulling the leeches. Apply some salts will help to get rid the leech instantly.

Please take note that the appearance of leeches are normally during wet or raining season. Plan your trip wisely if you wish to avoid leeches. Or else, be friend with the leeches. HAHAHAHA. Kidding!
