Ever heard of firefly (Kelip-kelip in Malay)? In Malaysia, there are a few places that you can see real fireflies from a close distance & this includes Kuala Selangor. Selangor river has lots of mangrove trees (Pokok Berembang) along the river. Because of these trees, fireflies like to stick around the branches. Without this specific trees, there would be no firefly around.
My dad told us that when he was young, he used to catch the fireflies around his house (My house) & put them in a jar. Now, all the fireflies are gone with a reason. Hmm How good if we use those fireflies to generate natural electricity like those ancient Chinese masters did.
There are two firefly attractions in Kuala Selangor (Kampung Kuantan & Kg Bukit Belimbing). We chose the later choice as geographically, it was nearer from KL although you got to go further up from Kuala Selangor town & it was owned by a resort. Theoretically, we assumed the place was well organized & yes indeed.
The ride is RM15 per adult & it opens at 7.30pm-10.30p.m. No photography, just use your eyes & ears to enjoy the approx 30 mins boat ride =)
We went to Kuala Selangor all the way from the old road without using any highway. Hence, it took us around 3 hrs to reach there (Morib-Sepang-Jenjarom-Klang-Muru-Kapar) for sigh-seeing purpose. You can just use Guthrie highway to reach there =p
Before reaching the firefly park, we stopped by at a museum at Bkt Melawati. RM2/pax two way ride
We fed them with bean curd which cost us RM2 for one bundle. Those monkeys were quite tame & the small brown monkey was the only special *colored* one.
Thx daddy & mummy for bringing us to see the beautiful firefly.

I recommended all of u to see the fireflies before they extinct in the future. It would be the best gift for ur gf/bf. *Wink wink*
