Few months ago, when I was skimming through a girl’s profile, accidentally found out that she was studying in Brisbane too. So, I sent a msg to notify her.
The day before my final mid sem paper, I got a msg from her inviting me to Byron Bay for a daytrip. I was so excited and agreed staright away. Here comes our journey. We were traveling down to New South Wales (state). yeaaa!
On that day, it was raining cats and dogs almost throughout the journey. sigh! But we got to see the beautiful scenery along the way.
2 Koreans and Veronica, my friend who tagged along
The 2-hour drive journey to the lighthouse was awesome. Miraculously, once we reached the destination, it was not raining. Although the sky was still looking dull and gloomy, but it has its own uniquness too :D
This lighthouse reminded me of the lighthouse in PD. I have brought quite a few people there and left with lots of good memories.
Now I am revealing who is the awesome girl who brought me there. Her name is Grace and she was my violin leader of my previous school band. What a small world I could say :)
There was a path leading down to nowhere
Along the path, we could see “jagung-botak-like/hair brush” plant
The path was leading us down to the shore :)
It is cool to find out that Byron Bay is the most easterly point of the Australian Mainland!
Awesome scenery :)
When we were at the shore, there was a couple following us too. The next thing I saw was her bf taking out his shirt and went for a swim. There was a no-swimming sign board but it did not seem to bother them. While looking him walking deeper into the sea, we saw lots of AWESOME DOLPHINES. I could see them doing “summersault” too. Wild natural is way too wonderful, I like!
At the same time, we kept a close eye to the guy who went for a swim. What we could see was he kept sweeping away by the rough sea to his right side. In the end, he was out of our sight when he was approaching a hugh pile of harsh rocks. His gf started to panic once she realized he was gone. We can’t do anything as there was no lifeguard duty at this kind of place. Even if there is one, the lifeguard wouldn’t jump into the sea either. U jump I jump meh >< After a few minutes, we could see a small figure appearing on the tip of the rock. I can guarantee he must have a hard time trying to grab anything he could when he was being pushed by the angry waves. No doubt that he has scratches on his body! After that, her gf kept scolding him and she pointing at the warning sign for a few times. Haha! yea, we can’t fight with the nature. Don’t play play dude.
See how strong the wind was
Spotted this car at the parking lot
Weird/artistic/abstract/unique shop that we spotted @Byron Bay town
Byron Bay indeed is a nice place to hang around. Usually, students from UQ/QUT like to travel early in the morning approx 3am just to watch the sunrise @Byron Bay. I hope I could go again just to see the sunrise one day :) Other than that, if you are rich enough to actually stay there for a few days, you could do some snorkelling, scuba diving, swimming in the sea, etc But of course, BEWARE OF SHARKS! There are plenty there.
That’s all for now. Will update more soon ^^
