awesome SkyDiving

Aloha, holiday is approaching. Here I am again to share something new. FYI, I was suppose to do skydiving with a group of friends in Cairns. However, due to the windy & unpredictable weather, it has to cancel and thus we decided to do it in Brisbane itself since it’s a no refund policy. Wondering how the tourists would react if they have to bid farewell to the money they have paid for.

After arranging with the related agent the date to “jump”, here we were at Sutton’s beach, Brisbane ready for the cool adventure. Since we were allocated to the later shift, we went for a walk around the place. Instantly, I fell in love with this tranquil and peaceful atmosphere. IMG_7656

Friends and me who were going to “jump airplane”

When we were doing administration stuffs in the office, the receptionists kept persuading us to change our jump height from 9000ft to higher. Of course this comes with cost. If it’s 14000ft (highest point), we need to pay extra approx $80 but the free fall moment will be longer. At that moment, I intended to do higher since it might be my first and last time doing this (not die okay). However, decided not to in the end because wanted to jump together with my friends Smile

Peh: was it safe? Am I going to die? bla bla bla.

While we were on the way to the airport, I decided to take off my coat because I like Raleigh shirt Open-mouthed smile Every time when I wanted to do some adventurous stunts, I prefer wearing it. But my only concern was it was winter at that time and my shirt was berlubang2 that kind of material, I scared of the coldness or should I say the freezing moment. With short pants some more!

Gary was his name. I think he was head or something. Hence, we needed to wait till everyone has sat in the plane before we stepped in. Ended up sitting beside the window which has given me a big chill + excitement. Anyhow, the view seen from the airplane down to the earth was freaking beautiful.

SEQ0006

Once we reached at 14000ft which I have no clue at all, Gary opened the door and instantly I was pushed by him to jump without any signal. Here was my cacat terrified expression.

SEQ0010

Ignore the “uglam” look. At the very first moment, I screamed my lung out because the feeling was too awesome to be terrified especially the free falling feeling. It was scarier than riding a superman roller coaster, no kidding!

My hair couldn’t stop harassing Gary’s face Smile with tongue out

Gary pointing his camera towards me, so I have to keep posing. If not the pictures taken were not cool. LOL

See Gary’s face. The impact of the wind was so strong!

Gary couldn’t stop camwhoring by facing the camera xD

One word to say, BAGUS!

The feeling of jumping from 14000ft to 0ft was friggin-awesome though my heart was nearly came out in an exaggerate way.

If you haven’t tried skydiving, give it a go unless you are pregnant or having heart problem. You must be wondering why I wrote 14000ft instead of 9000ft afterwards. Well, we got BONUS. We paid 9000ft fees but jumped at the highest point to match the consistency of other jumpers as well. tak kan the pilot stop at 9000ft for us then proceed to 14000ft for others. If so, gonna waste petrol and time!  I felt good too as I nearly wanna pay the extras for jumping 14000ft. LOL

We got a cert and $10 voucher for lunch before heading to Brisbane city. It’s a worthwhile deal as transportation and food were provided and we paid less than $200 for the jump whereby normally it would cost us approx $350++ for 14000ft.

Vegetarian burger. I paid $5 after discount. damn cheap kan!

Very nice Peh! I love your photos!

I've never skydived in Brisbane before, is the operator you're using called Skydive Australia or Jump The Beach?

I did 14,000 feet in Byron Bay a couple of months ago with Skydive Australia.

It's definitely worth it to go for the 14,000 feet jump, it's just a bit more and you're get about 60 seconds of freefall.

I got my skydiving license (Solo A) in Melbourne when I was studying there in 2001. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed the experience! New Zealand is very beautiful, I've done 3 jumps there but I've never skydived in Brisbane before.

South Africa sounds fun too!

Also, if you really like skydiving, try doing a HALO jump in the US. They don't have the 14k legal limit like in Australia...you can go up to 30,000 feet! :D

Have an awesome week Peh! :)
