Toowoomba Flora Festival

Aloha, few days ago, my friends and I went to Toowoomba flora festival by car. It was kinda a last minute plan due to time constraint and uncertainties.

I always wanted to attend this festival since 2 years ago and this year I took the effort to organize a day trip to Toowoomba by renting a car. It took me a few hours to come up with a satisfactory itinerary. Though we missed out the floral parade which was happened on the first day of the festival, we did enjoy ourselves throughout the journey.

After an hour and 40 minutes’ drive, our first stop was a private exhibition garden at Toowoomba. We bought the 3-garden ticket so that we could access 3 different gardens which located at different places in Toowoomba.

First garden: Philip and Marjorie Martin @ 17 Dallang Road

This little cottage has its own history. It was built long time ago and inside the house, you could see many miniature toys displayed neatly. I was tempted to play but afraid of spoiling it Smile with tongue outIMG_9593

Spotted a small umbrella and started to play “nice-girl”

Playing “nice-girl” did not suit me. Changed to a “sporty-girl”

2nd garden: Edwin and Lesley Dean @ 41 Stenner Street

This house was surrounded with Sakura trees, a small lake and some Chinese sculptures. At first, I thought the owner of this house was a Chinese. But apparently, it was not. It was owned by local Australians if not mistaken. But most of the themes of their house was based on Japanese/Chinese

The owner must be a rich and avid antique car collector

An old woman approached us and she was friendly and started to share her story with us. I admired her enthusiasm in sharing.

Our last stop was Picnic Point Lookout & Parkland

All of the places we went were within 5-15 minutes’ driving distance. It was really convenient and the places were easy to find.

We didn’t manage to take the paths due to time constraint

Ended up playing “see-saw” kind of playground game. This “pedal-power” was powerful enough to make you feeling nausea.

After that, we headed back to Brisbane and had dinner at a delicious vegan house.

That’s all for now. Truly cherish the time we spent together. It was fun and enjoyable. Till here, nite nite
